Narok County takes up road work project to mitigate destruction by floods

Narok County is currently implementing a road work project to mitigate destruction by floods.

Earlier today, the Narok County Development Implementation Co-ordination Committee team led by County Commissioner George Natembeya inspected works on the Stage Improvement of Narok – Sekenani (C12) 82KM Road.

The earthwork up to Subgrade has been completed across the 82KM stretch

There are 17 Box culverts constructed along the 82KM Narok – Sekenani Gate stretch which will assist stop flooding and control flow of water along the road when the rains start.

A new 40Metre Long two span Bridge at the 67KM+300 has also been built to replace the old 10Metre Long Bridge.

This Bridge will facilitate better water flow & control of floods during the heavy rains.

The locals have benefitted from the construction of the road through excavation of water pans by the contractor, there are 60 water pans along the 82KM stretch which support provision of water for domestic use to the locals.
