Hassan Joho says he doesn’t need Baba to thrash Ruto come 2022

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has said he has what it takes to beat Deputy President William Ruto in the upcoming 2022 polls.

Speaking in Wajir where he had attended a fundraiser hosted by Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi on Saturday, Joho said Ruto will be the least of his worries if he contested for the nation’s top post when that time comes.

“I’m surprised of people talking about Ruto. I can floor Ruto myself, without help,” he said, amid cheers from the crowd.

The county boss opined that Ruto doesn’t deserve to be given power because he lacks the qualities of a leader.

He faulted the second in command for allegedly being mentioned in several corruption scandals that have rocked this nation since the Jubilee regime took over power in 2013.

The governor further argued that Ruto will destroy the country if he is elected president come 2022.

He urged leaders from different parts of the nation to rally behind someone else other than Ruto.

This comes after Joho earlier revealed that African Union High Representative on Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga had asked the ODM leadership to ensure Ruto doesn’t occupy State House in 2022.

Other leaders who had attended the fundraising event include Raila, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
