MOMBASA GOONS CAUGHT ON CCTV ARRESTED

Police in Mombasa have arrested five suspects who were captured on CCTV camera robbing a woman within Makande area. 

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the five were identified as Brighton Naiya Manyala, Mohamed Hassan, Chris Odhiambo Omondi, Evans Munyoki Mburiro and Mutonyi Nzamba.

The footage dated Friday, March 22, 2019, showed one of the suspects threatening to shoot the lady outside an M-Pesa shop while another pulling away her handbag.

The woman then surrendered her handbag to the gang who fled the scene on a motorcycle after committing the robbery.

UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ARRESTED TRANSPORTING DRUGS

Two university students are among four suspects arrested at the weekend while trafficking narcotics in separate incidents.

The students were arrested at a roadblock in Odda, Moyale, Marsabit County as they tried to board a bus headed for Nairobi.

They then searched of weapons and other hazardous things when police who were at the scene acted.

Officers at the roadblock said they found three kilogrammes of bhang from the students aged 22 and 20 wrapped on their bodies. They school at two different universities in Nairobi and are expected in court on Monday.

They were identified as Mr. Chris Duma Odhiambo, 22 and Mr. Raymond Mwilo, 20. It is not clear if it is their first attempt but police said they are investigating their activities.

NAIROBI MONEY COUNTERFEITER-RING RING

It is estimated 20 MPs are making millions of shillings from counterfeit money and gold business in Nairobi.

The MPs are said to be in a gang of local and international crooks conning gullible individuals and investors.

They include crooked police officers, fast-talking wheeler-dealers, immigration officers, bankers, high-end hotels and judicial officers.

Its reported that there are printers in Luthuli, Khoja and Kirinyaga roads, whose specialty is bulk printing of counterfeit currency.

Godfathers of the illegal trade are said to be two chief inspectors of police who operate within the international and national arena.

JUSTICE NDUNG’U GIVES HERSELF TO THE DCI FOR INVESTIGATIONS

Supreme Court Judge Njoki Ndung’u has raised the stakes on judges graft allegations by inviting Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to probe her.

In what now gives a new twist to the judicial probe involving the Supreme Court, the lady judge who wrote to sleuths through her lawyer Andrew Musangi wants parallel investigations alongside those of Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

While subjecting herself to DCI’s authority, she committed in the letter dated March 21, that in the event she is found culpable, she should be charged.

The judge also wants the DCI to probe all players mentioned in the petition filed before JSC and touching on Wajir gubernatorial election case.

She wants anyone, including the complainant Jared Ngeri and lawyers who helped file the petition probed and charged if found to have any criminal conduct.
