With the recent controversial utterances coming from DP William Ruto’s mouth, it wouldn’t have been surprising if he denied that Fatuma Zarika did not win the WBC boxing title.
Well, this is not funny. A man who can publicly deny that Kenyans are starving to death is capable of anything. One day he will deny that he is married to Rachel.
But back to the Zarika story; Ruto led Kenyans in congratulating the boxer for her hard fought victory against Catherine Phiri at KICC on Saturday night.
“Congratulations to World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Bantamweight Champion Fatuma Zarika for flooring challenger Catherine Phiri to retain the title. We savour your exploits following a dogged, tactical and assured display.” The DP said through his official Twitter handle.
The fight was really dogged and tactical, and idiots who don’t understand boxing think Zarika lost.
Raila Odinga, who does not see eye to eye with Ruto had no choice but to agree on Zarika’s win.
President Uhuru Kenyatta would have sent a congratulation message but he is currently offline after someone hacked his twitter account.
But there is always a problem with Kenyan politicians, they will run to celebrate your victory when you win, yet non of them will be there when you need them.
Raila has not said anything about the Turkana hunger. Ruto on the other hand has been silent on the ill treatment of the Kenya Prisons Volleyball team which was recently stranded in Egypt and had to be flown back home before the end of the competition.
