(Photos)How LGBTQ community rocked in court

The Court of Appeal in Nairobi Kenya has dismissed the NGO Coordination Board appeal, that challenged the order to officially register the NGLHRC as an NGO.

Heard by a five judge bench, three judges ruled in our favor, dismissing the appeal, while two upheld the appeal.

As expected, the LGBT community showed up in court in large number.

Court of Appeal upholds 2015 High Court decision compelling the NGO Coordination Board to register the National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission. This means the LGBTQ+ can freely associate.

Now LGBT are free to form an organization which will defend their rights.

‘The ruling is a major win for the LGBT community which has for long been discriminated against by the government through anti-gay laws.’
