Wiper candidate for Embakasi South by Election Julius Mawathe has suffered a blow after some members allied to ODM,Ford Kenya and ANC party lobby for election of Sumra.
Mps led by George Aladwa (Makandara),Tim Wanyonyi(Westland) Geoffrey Otosti(ANC) , Florence Mutual and Cleopas Malala(ANC),said Sumra is the best candidate for the job.
“We have more than 23000 votes in Embakasi South and we are sure Sumra will carry the day,”Aladwa said.
Tim Wanyonyi a brother to Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula said that Sumra will enjoy support from all spire.
Already more than 8 candidates have declared interest for the sea
Wiper candidate Julius Mawathe lost the seat after Sumra successful lodged a complain in Supreme court.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka had requested ODM party to shelve the ambition and not to field a candidate and support mr Mawathe.
Kalonzo had expressed confidence that Mawathe is the only better choice for the seat.
In the spirit of handshake , Jubilee had announced they will not field a candidate for the by Election.
Party Secretary general Raphael Tuju said that the party will be neutral and they will not campaign for any candidate
Earlier section of Jubilee Mps had announced their support to mr Mawathe.
Led by Moses Kuria the leaders vowed that they will support Mawathe on personal ground but not the party.
