Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has of late presented himself as a die-hard William Ruto defender who will do anything just to ensure that William Ruto becomes this Country’s President come 2022.

It will be remembered that last week, Hon Didmus in a tweet dared Opposition Chief Raila Odinga to dare set foot in Kimilili if he has two balls. He would later delete the tweet after massive backlash from Raila Odinga’s supporters.

MP Didmus Barasa and his Sirisia Counterpart John Waluke warned Raila not to ever step his foot in Bungoma County if he continues criticising their key man deputy President Dr William Ruto.

Well, Raila Odinga will surely set foot in Bungoma but as he does that, the Kimilili MP will be having a date with the Courts and even risks loosing his Parliamentary seat over bankruptcy.

This is after a suit was filed against him after failing to pay Sh4.2 million.

The Jubilee MP has been taken to Court by Smart Cars Limited who accuse him of failing a car loan for his Toyota Landcruiser purchased in 2017.

Documents filed in court show that the car dealer had earlier filed a suit at the Magistrate’s court last year seeking to compel Barasa to settle the debt to which the first time legislator agreed to make monthly payments.

He however has not settled the debt and the firm wants him declared bankrupt.

“The said Hon Didmus Wekesa Barasa is unable or has no reasonable prospect of paying the debt and a bankruptcy order is merited as prayed herein,” court documents read.

According to the documents, Parliament was to pay sh7 million and Barasa would then cover the remaining sh4.7 million to cover the total cost of the carat sh11.7 million.

Barasa then deposited sh1 million and undertook to settle the outstanding Sh3.7 million by October 11, 2017, a commitment he never fulfilled.

Barasa is yet to file his response and the case to be heard on March 26.
