The National Disaster Management Authority CEO James Oduor said the media had amplified the reports and sending wrong information to the public.

He said deaths had been reported in Baringo, Tiatty and Turkana areas are from a result of illness and not hunger.

“Yes, deaths were there but they cannot be linked directly to drought. This can be as a result of sickness and other issues,” James Oduor said in Harambee House.

Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans;

Deputy President William Ruto said that the government has approved Ksh 2 billion to cover the famine in the area.

Kenyans are wondering if the deaths should be met first before the government take action.
