The FACE of IMPUNITY… Lawyer Ahmednassir has faulted Justice Jackton Ojwang for failing to appear before the JSC

Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has faulted Supreme Court Justice Jackton Ojwang for failing to appear before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

According to Grand Mullah, the act of the judge is an indicator of impunity of the highest order. 

He noted that it is unfortunate that the judges have the guards to disobey court orders and expect the commoners to honour them.

Supreme Court Justice Jackton Ojwang is being investigated over bribery. 

Ojwang on Monday refused to appear before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to address the matter. 

President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is completing his second and final term in office, is likely to set up a tribunal to remove him from office after the move. 

Ojwang has been put on the spot on several occasions for allegedly taking bribes to deliver biased rulings. 

The JSC has asked him to appear before it to shed more light on the allegations levelled against him failure to which a process to remove him from office will kick off.

He has been faulted for ruling in favour of Migori County Governor Okoth Obado in a case involving Sony Sugar belt and in return he was rewarded by Migori County Governor Okoth Obado. 

Ojwang was also accused alongside justices Njoki Ndung’u and Mohamed Ibrahim for making a judgement before a disciplinary action by former Law Society of Kenya CEO Apollo Mboya.

Grand Mullah pointed an accusing finger at Ojwang and other Justices for what he termed as unfair ruling in the Wajir gubernatorial race.

Supreme Court Warning

The Supreme Court has cautioned City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi to stop attacking it or risk punishment in the future.

According to the judges of the apex court stated that attacks from the Senior Counsel will be treated as contempt of court proceedings.

In the ruling made on Friday, the court further stated that there will be inevitable consequences and appropriate sanctions for contempt in the face of the court.

According to the court, Mr Abdullahi conducted himself in a manner calculated to lower the dignity of the court.

Justice Jackton Ojwang, who read the ruling stated that the Senior Counsel was more than discourteous towards the court and demonstrated willful disrespect for the authority of the court.

This was the typical instance of a trespass well outside the bounds of legitimate advocacy,” Justice Ojwang’ said.
