Barclays Bank issues official communication on nabbed fake currency

Barclays Bank of Kenya has cleared the air after USD.2 billion fake currency was impounded at Queensway branch, Nairobi on Tuesday.

The bank though its official tweeter account posted that the fake cash belongs to a client who stashed the money in a deposit box.

“A customer who holds a personal safe deposit box at our Queensway branch was this morning intercepted by police at the branch.” the bank stated.

The banks statement was also supported by the Director of Criminal Investigations, DCI George Kinoti.
