Manchester United captain Antonio Valencia could move to Premier League rivals Arsenal once the season is over.

That’s according to the Ecuadorian full-back’s father Luis Valencia.

Valencia, 33, will leave Old Trafford at the end of the current campaign as he hasn’t seen much action this season under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And when asked by Ecuadorian newspaper El Universo what options Valencia had on the table – the fulll-back’s father offered up a selection of teams.

“He wants a change in the air and the club is not going to renew him either. Like everything in life, everything comes to an end.

“Arsenal, West Ham, Inter Milan and one club from China are options, but in football everything is changing.

“He wants to choose the best option, but above all he wants to sign a contract for two years.

“Not for the money, but for peace and hopefully, he told me, be hired by a team that fights for important things.”

Solsjkaer had his say on the situation at the time, noting that it would be great to get Valencia on the pitch a few more times before he leaves.

“He is one of the Premier League winners left in the dressing room but I’m not sure if Manchester United and Antonio will agree on the next year so it depends if he gets back on the pitch in the next few months,” he said.

“But he’s the captain, great servant to the club so hopefully I can get him on the pitch and show what he can do.”

Arsenal’s first-choice right back Hector Bellerin is out with injury until the beginning of next season at the very least.

He suffered an ACL injury in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League earlier this season.

The Sun are reporting that Arsenal are after Crystal Palace right-back Aaron-Wan-Bissaka and are willing to give up Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson to get him.

Valencia confirmed himself that he was leaving Manchester United after 10 years with the club, following speculation about whether the club would renew his contract.
