How Raila Odinga Helped Save Gor Mahia From the Oliech Shame

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga might have just saved Defending Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia the shame of loosing Striker Dennis Oliech over unpaid payments.

Oliech had threatened to quit Kogallo after the Club’s officials failed to honour a deal that saw him come out of retirement to join the team.

Oliech was seeking for a release letter from the Club over unpaid money amountint to 1.6 million Shillings.

It took the intervention of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to make the talismanic striker change his mind.

Raila assured the striker that he will do everything possible to have his money paid in full failure to which he (Raila) will pay Oliech from his own pocket.

“If they don’t pay you as agreed by April, then I will pay you the money from my pocket,” Odinga assured Oliech.

Oliech is now in line to face Petro Atletico in a crucial CAF Confederations Cup quarterfinals clash at the Kasarani Stadium.

A Win for Kogallo will see them book a quarterfinal spot in the CAF Competition for the first time in the Club’s history.
