COMRADE STABS FOURTH YEAR TO DEATH
A student at Moi University’s’ main campus in Kesses, Uasin Gishu County was stabbed to death during a bar fight on Friday night.
The fourth year student was allegedly stabbed by a colleague on suspicion of stealing his mobile phone.
The incident took place at a local club near the university.
The assailant is said to have angrily marched to the campus where he picked the kitchen knife with which he stabbed his colleague.
“The deceased was a fourth year student studying bachelor of education degree,” said Rev Ayieko
STUDENTS SECRETLY ADMITTED IN KISII
Several students from Nyabururu Girls National School are reported to have been secretly admitted to hospital amidst claims of massive for food poisoning and corporal punishment that have put the school in bad light.
A spot check by a local media house at health facilities in the area revealed that several had been treated and discharged while others were still in hospital on intravenous fluids (IV).
Students at the institution are reportedly under strict instructions from the administration not to inform their parents of the worrying state of affairs and anyone who goes against this is subjected to severe corporal punishment.
Human rights activists, parents and a section of Kisii county leaders are now calling for the immediate closure of the institution so that parents can seek proper medical attention for their children.
LAIKIPIA WOMEN REP SHAMED BY MARTHA KARUA
Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has slammed Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru after her bitter exchange with a police officer who remained calm and collected as “great shame.”
Ms Karua was reacting to an amateur video that is making rounds on social media where the woman representative is filmed telling of a police officer who is heard telling her that she was inciting the public.
“Stop intimidating young guys doing their business, are they criminals, get yourself busy doing some meaningful work arrest bandits, criminals,” she is heard telling the officer.
She further says “is this Kismayu that they are here planning how to attack people? It is not.”
The officer later salutes at her and leaves her shouting at him. Ms Waruguru was later arrested.
LAWYER SHOOTS SON TO DEATH
Police on Sunday detained lawyer Assa Nyakundi to help with investigations after he accidentally shot to death his son near their house in Nairobi.
Mr Nyakundi, who reported the incident to the police, said he was travelling to his Muthaiga North house from church with his son, 29, in the back seat of his Toyota Axio car.
As they neared his house, he told police he leaned back to retrieve his pistol from a seat pouch and accidentally shot his son in the chest.
He said the son was pronounced dead on arrival at the Aga Khan University Hospital where he took him after the incident.
