Former Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo believes that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto inherited a country which was united under the leadership of retired President Mwai Kibaki but they have polarised it.

According to the vocal politician, Kenyans have nothing to celebrate about President Uhuru Kenyatta-led Jubilee administration, seven years after it took power.

“Jubilee took a country that President Kibaki left intact and have divided it into many particles,” he said during an exclusive interview on NTV.

Midiwo also accused Uhuru and Ruto of ‘killing’ parliament which, he noted, should remain vibrant in order to carry out its legislative duties.

“The thing that the Jubilee government has done is to kill parliament. The parliament is dead as a dodo. We need to restore parliament, give power to parliament,” he remarked during Sidebar segment.

Midiwo claimed Jubilee has committed so many errors and asked Raila, who has been in good terms with the President since the March 9 handshake, to use the opportunity to ‘destroy’ the government.

“Raila destroyed a bad KANU he should be the one to destroy a bad Jubilee,” said the former National Assembly Minority Leader in the 11th Parliament.

The former MP referred to Raila’s famous ‘Kibaki Tosha’ declaration ahead of the 2002 general election which led to the removal of retired President Daniel Arap Moi’s KANU from power.
