“There are extrajudicial killings in the county, we want the provincial administration to intervene.

“As leaders, we will not accept this because suspects should be taken to court. They should not be killed,” he stated.

Seeking Ministry of Interior intervention

Isiolo North MP Hassan Oda and the county’s Woman Representative Rehema Jaldesa vowed to raise the matter with Interior CS Fred Matiang’i noting that they did not have concrete evidence to link KWS with the alleged killings and disappearances.

Three years ago, there were such allegations and leaders asked for help from government to help bring to books the suspects

“We are aware that four people have gone missing but we are not sure who is responsible.

“As leaders we will bring the matter to the attention of the Interior ministry so that the minister can use his resources to establish who is responsible,” Mr Oda relayed.

Local MCAs asked the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to release the findings of a previous investigation termed the Kinna-KWS saga.

The scandal involved a clash between rangers attached to the Meru National Park and the local community living in Kinna Ward which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.

The Senate Security Committee also investigated said extrajudicial killings in the Kinna area in 2015.
