The recycled dress that has made twitter go crazy is from Alexander McQueen. Kate Middleton first wore this stunning dress to the BAFTAs in 2017, and she dug out again this year for a fancy event at the National Portrait Gallery

The Duchess of Cambridge looked absolutely stunning as she arrived at a black tie event for the National Portrait Gallery in a gorgeous flowery Alexander McQueen.

Fashion fans recognised the gown immediately as the same one she wore at the BAFTAs two years ago, and many were delighted to see it again as it’s a real favourite.

But the dress has undergone a few changes since it’s last trip down the red carpet, and it appears to have been redesigned.

The version Kate wore to the 2019 Portrait Gala last week had a completely different neckline and different sleeves.

This left many fans to start looking very, very closely at the dress to try to work out how Kate’s fashion team had managed to restyle it.

What Kate Wore , a popular blog following the Duchess’ style, seemed to kick off the debate and it wasn’t long before lots of people got involved.

Many agreed it has just been altered, and praised the excellent work of her staff.

During the gala Kate mingled with the other A-list guests including Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham.

She also viewed artwork made by some of the National Portrait Gallery’s outreach programmes and talk to aspiring artists.

Just thinking out loud, if recycling outfits would make someone more popular some of us would run the world.
