Kenyan artists have been complaining that their music is never given a platform which will help to nurture them. Instead, music from other countries is greatly played in Kenya. It seem their complains falls on deaf ears, as the South African Duo, Mafikizolo have been given a chance to headline Magical Kenya golf tournament.
Angered Kenyans took to social media, led by Anto Neosoul to display their disappointments for not being offered such a chance. He tweeted; “When Mafikizolo get to headline a MAGICAL KENYA OPEN gig, imagine the message you are sending to all the foreign visitors! That we have the capacity to host a golf event but none to hire our own to perform? That Kenyan Artistes aren’t enough! That YOU aren’t enough.”
Another Kenyan, Dan Aceda ironcally tweeted; “Thank you Magical Kenya and Kenya open Golf for always putting Kenya culture front and center. Congratulations to Kenyan musicians MafikizoloSA. Looking forward to a Brilliant performance.”
Angered Kenyans didn’t hesitate to react as they replied to Dan’s tweet.
