“These teachers stand no chance to handle any Kenyan child,”said Macharia.

“As we protect our children. The code of regulations does not only belong to those employed by the government even those that are not,”

The officials further urged parents not to leave their children to teachers and instead get involved and take part in ensuring their safety.

“This is a problem bigger than what teachers can tackle and the focus should not be narrowed down to teachers ..Its the society, parents….The teacher is always overwhelmed,” said Macharia.

“There’s a lot of cover up.Our teachers are compromised, administrators compromised while numerous cases go unreported ,Poverty and some cultural practices which never allow disclosure of perpetrators,”
