The good thing with cooking your own food is that you know what you used to cook it. That is why KFC wants you to venture into what goes on behind the counter in a KFC joint.

KFC is launching a one-of-a-kind exclusive event called KFC Open Kitchen, that will see it open its doors to the public to find out if they’ve got what it takes to make its iconic fried chicken.

True chicken connoisseurs can get to know their favourite grub even better by breading, frying and of course, eating their very own KFC chicken, made from scratch in the shop.

What would be in your dream burger?

Up to 300 KFC branches across the UK will be opening up their kitchens on Saturday 30th March for loyal fans to get an exclusive hands-on look behind the scenes to see first hand how KFC cooks their famous Original Recipe chicken fresh in restaurants every single day.

However, you will need a ticket to gain access to the back of the shop. Each ticket costs £5(Ksh700) from See tickets, which also includes food, drink and a few other branded items, with locations available all over the UK.

It’s harder than it looks to get everything properly coated

And after all the hard work, each attendee will be rewarded with the chance to devour their own burger creation, along with a piece of Original Recipe Chicken, fries, drink and a side.

Rob Swain, Chief Operations Officer at KFC UK & Ireland, said: “We’re really proud of the food we serve, and of all the care that goes into making our chicken taste as incredible as it does.”

“We want to welcome everyone in to give them the chance to see what makes it so finger lickin’ good, and invite them to try keeping pace with our amazing team members. We can’t wait to show the nation how it’s done.”

Tickets for KFC Open Kitchen cost £5 and are allocated on a first come first served basis, so you’ll need to be quick to get yours, with ticket sales starting at 11am today (Wednesday 13 March).

A update on a classic

There’s venues all across the UK, in London, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Northern England, Southern England and the Midlands.

All profits will go to the KFC Foundation, which supports local charities who are passionate about developing and nurturing young people.
