Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Ulinzi Stars has parted ways with striker Elijah Mwanzia on mutual consent; the club has confirmed.

Mwanzia has been with the soldiers for eight months after joining from KPL rivals Mathare United with head coach Dunstan Nyaudo thanking the player for the services he offered the club during his stay there.

“Mwanzia is a top player and had improved a lot with us; I guess we are at that point where we have to allow him pursue greater things, and he leaves with all our blessings,” Nyaudo told the club’s official website.

Nyaudo further stated that the team that will be getting Mwanzia will be lucky to have him and predicted a good future for the player.

“He is a great player, only that our philosophy and style of play didn’t suit him. He is more of a ball player and I bet he will be a big asset to his next team and I am sure he will make it big in the industry,” the coach opined.

Mwanzia made his debut for Ulinzi Stars on June 23 2018 against Gor Mahia and played his final game for the team in their 1-1 draw with Posta Rangers on Saturday 23 February.
