Kyle McCarter: What the New US Ambassador has in store for Kenya

On Tuesday, The Head of State president Uhuru Kenyatta received McCarter and five other incoming envoys’ Letters of Credence where he welcomed them.

This is American President Trump’s first appointment to Kenya, as new US ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter, presented his credentials to President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi.

“I have today received Letters of Credence from six incoming envoys. Welcome to Kenya and feel at home. I look forward to working with you to strengthen the cooperation and bilateral relations for the benefit of the people of our countries,” Uhuru stated.

After the meeting, the US Ambassador conveyed that he was excited to embark on his new position adding that his time as an entrepreneur and a Senator had prepared him for the assignment.

“Just presented credentials to his Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta. Officially in place and ready to work side by side. Tutafanya kazipamoja (we’ll work together),” he stated.

He pledged to support systems in the country thereby making Kenya a shining star of democracy in Africa.

“I will do everything I can to empower Kenyans to take charge of their own lives by helping them pave a path to self-reliance,” he added.

He further maintained that he would support the fight against corruption. 

“As the next generation of leaders stand against corruption and deliver new opportunities for young, we will stand by your side.

“Corruption should not rob Kenyans off a robust economy, democracy and dependable institutions,” McCarter stated.
