Nyamira resident urge Bosire to reject Sonko’s offer

Nyamira county residents have urged DR Steklla Bosire to reject Governor Sonko nomination to head the county health docket.

In a statement, the Gusii-born doctor who was brought up in Kibra, said that she will pursue her career elsewhere, dealing a blow to the flamboyant governor who has gone without a deputy governor for one year.

“Unfortunately, it has come to that. I will serve Kenyans in other spaces,” said Ms Bosire.

The committee chairman, acting Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Chege Mwaura said that Ms Bosire never submitted her papers.

“She never presented her papers to the committee to be vetted so we assumed she was not interested,” said Mr Mwaura.

But James Sirimani, a social activist said Dr Bosire’s move was perfect, adding that Sonko’s habit of sacking workers could ruin City Hall workers with many working under pressure.

“She’s competent and such people cannot be subjected to toxic environments. Sonko is fond of sacking workers without notice and this kills the morale. I support Bosire’s move,” he wrote.

Mwalimu Nyerere added: “This is a good move. Sonko should now try to improve the relationship with his workers. You cannot intimidate them then you expect good output. He just have to change.”

Mrs Bosire, who at one time rejected scholarship to study in Italy, is a member of KMPDU and lost touch with her father when she was young. She was educated by well wishers According to multiple interviews she’s done before.
