Turkish Airlines marks 10 years since inauguration of flights to Kenya

On 9th March, Turkish airline celebrated its 10th anniversary of flights to Nairobi held at the residence of the Turkish Ambassador.

Some of the top officials who attended the anniversary celebrations is Tourism CS Najib Balala.

The airliner launched its first direct flight from Istanbul to Nairobi in 2009.

Speaking during the event, Najib Balala noted that Turkish Airlines has played a key role in boosting the tourism sector and equally upgraded the economy.

The Tourism CS noted that Turkish Airline opened up Mombasa and Nairobi to the world and  has connected Kenya to key tourism source markets with flights to Central and Eastern Europe

He also added that Turkish Airlines is one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe, with wide destination coverage and efficient connections.

“ It is also one of the most competitive and respected airlines in European, which we accredit with bringing Kenya & Turkey closer together” he added

The 10th anniversary celebrations according to him,provided an opportunity to appreciate the warm & cordial relations that our two countries share, both at bilateral and multilateral levels.

The airline flies to Nairobi and Mombasa, thus serving the markets that are primarily for beach destinations, since they will connect through Istanbul and fly directly to Mombasa not via Nairobi.

Najib Balala  reiterated that Turkey remains a valued and reliable partner to Kenya

He also gave his congratulatory remarks on behalf of Government & People of Kenya, to the  Excellency Ahmet Cemil Miroglu, Turkish Government & Turkish Airlines as they celebrated the major milestone.
