“No, we don’t have to choose,” Ole told reporters when asked if the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League involvement would force him to prioritise competitions. “Because with the injuries we’ve had lately, that’s given us a great chance to give players game time. And they are coming back, maybe for Wolves.

“But after the international break we’ll have a full squad fit and the ones who’ve come in when the regulars have been injured have done really well. We’ll be ready for that.”

Nemanja Matic and Anthony Martial have returned to the Premier League action against Arsenal after spending a few weeks on the sidelines with muscular injuries. Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard (all hamstring) are all featured in United’s Friday session at Carrington but failed to make the squad against Arsenal.

The Red Devils will take on Wolves away in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday and all the players above could feature at Molineux.

Antonio Valencia (calf), Matteo Darmian, Phil Jones (ill) and Alexis Sanchez (knee) could all return against Watford on March 30.
