Churchilll comedian, Oliver Otieno, famously known as YY, has reveled that he inherited his stage name, YY, from his late dad.He says; ” YY was my dad’s name. It is a nickname he was given by his Kalenjin friends.
YY is someone who is outgoing, someone who doesn’t stay at one place. He used to live here in Nairobi. My dad, however, passed away when I was in standard three, so I decided to let his legacy live. I still respected him as my dad.
YY joined Churchill Show in 2013 after making it through his first audition.He is known for his unique and effortless jokes that leave the audience in laughter.
He is a Kenyatta University alumni where he pursued Health Records and Information Management. His professional acting started in 2011 where he did plays with ‘The Kenyatta University Travelling Theatre’.
