Bhangi ni mbaya! Man slits his wife, baby’s throats then hangs himself

Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth introduced a bill in parliament seeking to legalise the use of marijuana, which was heavily supported by Raila Odinga Junior. But do you think this bill should sail through? Well, over the recent past, bhang has been doing more harm in the society. A man hacked his wife and baby to death then committed suicide at his house at Bate village in Magarini Sub-county, just because of bhang!

Dagamra Location chief Daniel Kiti said 30-year-old Azan Charo Kadenge used a knife to slit the throat of his 27-year-old wife Mapenzi Charo Ngala and their four-month-old baby on Friday afternoon.

“I was at a prize giving day event when I received a call from a neighbour; I rushed there but unfortunately the man had already committed the acts. We await for the police to secure the scene,” he said.

Azan had just moved to his new home after a disagreement with his father over bhang smoking. “This is really shocking, the wife had just returned from her parents’ home and she was spotted in the morning hours with her husband in their compound,” said a local.

“I found the wife and the baby lying in a pool of blood with their throats slit, while the man was hanging from the roof,” added another resident.Garashi Ward MCA Peter Ziro condemned the incident and urged the youth to shun drug abuse.

“It is painful to lose a young family like this, however testimonies from relatives indicate the man was a bhang smoker and had run mad. I call upon youth to avoid hard drugs and stay positive to avoid such scenarios,” said Ziro.
