Police chief warns officers harassing other Motorists to allow their VIPs quick passage

All officers on VIP security duties have been instructed to stop personalities carried by the convoy vehicles from violating the rules of the road which others are forced to obey.

The move comes after a motorist driving from Village Market to Nairobi CBD protested after being hit by a VIP vehicle allegedly on the wrong lane and the occupants left.

Whereas police have said they are yet to get the individuals in the case , Irresponsible conduct by officers on VIP security duties while on public roads has been brought to the attention of the Inspector General of Police.

In a series of tweets, the police cationed against officers taking advantage to escape traffic by overlapping.

All officers on VIP security duties have therefore been instructed to stop this behavior forthwith; must therefore follow the highway code and obey the traffic law just like other Motorists. 5/5— National Police Service-Kenya (@NPSOfficial_KE) March 8, 2019
