Prophet Owuor’s supporters on Friday took to Twitter to protest what they termed as blackmail and defamation of the “mightiest prophet of God” by the Star.

This follows a series of exclusive pieces by the Star this week highlighting of how Owuor has been living a princely lifestyle financed through proceeds from a multi-billion empire owned by a once-high-flying, fashionable lawyer-turned-pauper, Jayne Muthoni.

Muthoni’s family had accused the controversial prophet and his Repentance and Holiness Ministry of forcefully seizing properties worth over Sh1.5 billion in Westlands, Nairobi.

Despite the stories being based on documents and interviews with the complainants as well as Owour’s lawyer, the “Prophet’s” followers spent Friday attacking the Star.

Using the hashtag #TheStarGutterPress , Owuor’s followers launched a scathing attack on the Star and other media stations that exposed the prophet’s seemingly underhand dealings that revealed his mysterious source of wealth.

“Know from today that Jewish community recognize prophet Owuor as man of GOD. Then who were you to peddle lies against him!!” @AndrewKeya20 wrote.

“No one can blackmail the mightiest Prophets of the LORD and succeed, I think people now know don’t try it you will fight a losing battle,” @HarrietKavere said.
