Why have police not arrested Kulundu killers

Nzoia Sugar Company managing director, Michael Kulundu is heading to the grave as family wait for justice to be served.

Mr Kulundu succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

He was kidnapped, tortured and left for dead by unknown assailants in January.

His family said he died today after being hospitalised for two months.

On January 2, Kulundu was kidnapped from a hotel along the Kanduyi-Webuye Highway.

He was rescued by a driver who took him to Bungoma West hospital in Kanduyi town.

“Kulundu suffered multiple injuries on the head, a dislocated shoulder, cuts on the right hand, chest and lower limbs. We conducted a CT scan and the X-Ray, he is in a stable condition now but we have transferred him to Aga Khan Kisumu for specialised treatment,” doctors at the hospital said at the time.

According to Nzoia Sugar Company Workers Union Secretary General Macdonald Wamacho, the attack was linked to forces opposed to the privatization of the sugar mill.

Police investigating the case have not arrested Kulundu’s attackers.
