The incoming boss for the National Police Service Commission has said that he will bridge the gap between police and public, among other things.

Kinuthia is filling the position that was left vacant by Johnston Kavuludi when he retired last year December.

The incoming chairman also hinted at creating a police department that will specifically deal with child protection and control domestic violence.

He and five other members of the commission were appointed by the president last month and were awaiting approval by the parliament.
