Manchester United’s players are now certain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be appointed on a permanent basis.
The Norwegian made history in Paris on Wednesday night as United overcame a two-goal deficit to reach the Champions Leaguequarter-finals.
For many within the club it was the final confirmation that Solskjaer has passed his audition and beaten long-time first-choice Mauricio Pochettino to the job.
Romelu Lukaku, whose two first-half goals set up the famous win, told Via Sport: “I know he’s going to stay, there’s no doubt about that.
“He wants to stay, the players want him to stay. We’re doing really well, we’re playing like Manchester United should play.
Ashley Young said: “He’s been fantastic since he’s come in, a breath of fresh air.
“The way he’s gone about the job has been unbelievable. The achievements we’ve made in a short space of time have been fantastic.
“Luckily for us as players we don’t have to decide, it’s down to the owners and the directors.”
