Man Utd Fans Can’t Get Enough Of How Rio Ferdinand Celebrated Rashford’s Penalty

The United hero celebrated just like every other fan when the England international smashed the ball in from 12-yards.

And today the former defender has posted a video that captured his reaction to the winner in the BT Sport studio.

With the ball on the spot and Rashford waiting for the green light, Ferdinand looks a worried man.

But he is soon punching the air and up out of his seat as United pulled off a stunning comeback to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Manchester United fans on Twitter could not get enough of the clip as they continue to look back on a memorable evening.

“Just love you Rio,” one fan replied.

Another put: “Billions shared the same emotion!”

A third wrote: “You can take the man out of united….but you can never, and I mean never take United out of the man ! What a game what a night!!!”

When United won the penalty after the referee turned to VAR to penalise Presnel Kimpembe for handball, Ferdinand did not even want Rashford to take the spot kick.

The pundit urged youngster Mason Greenwood to take it instead, after coming on to make his senior debut.

“Let’s go!” he shouted after the referee pointed to the spot.

“Greenwood! Take it Greenwood!

“Go and get the ball and make a name for yourself.”

United had to endure a spell of PSG pressure in the first half after Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring.

Eric Bailly was having a particularly difficult time at right-back and forced Solskjaer into an early substitution, something that helped United according to Ferdinand.

“It would have been negligent to keep Bailly on the pitch to be honest,” he said on BT Sport.

“It’s a blessing he got injured and had to come off.”
