Hearing on Lawyer Willie Kimani’s murder escalates

Four administrative police and a police informer on Wednesday appeared in court over the murder of Lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri.

The three were reported kidnapped after leaving the Mavoko Law Courts on June 23, 2016 and were tortured before being killed.

Appearing before Justice Jessie Lessit, the Defense alleged that a former testimony by police informer Peter Ngugi was coerced.

At the same time, prosecution asked High Court to allow use of confession statement as evidence in the murder case.

Justice Lessit will on 4th April 2019 rule on Prosecution’s application.
