Echesa vows to fight for Leopards

He might have been fired but the former sports Cabinet Secretary has vowed to fight to Kenyan football team AFC Leopards to ensure they are paid Ksh 1.7million as discussed while he was in office.

While in office he had promised to clear all outstanding player allowances at the Den during a time when their floundering start to the season was linked to a go-slow.

“I talked on behalf of the government and the money will still be issued to the club. I will follow up it up with my colleague Amina and ensure that they get their money.

In addition he said, “We didn’t have a deadline as such because mostly government money do not have a deadline,” he said.

Echesa was part of the ‘rescue committee’ that set out to help marshal Leopards back among the top Kenyan Premier League (KPL) places after they had sank into the bottom

The 12-time champions climbed to 16th – the promotion playoff position – last week after defeating Sony Sugar 1-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
