An interesting survey done by Mobile surveying platform, Geopoll, revealed the TV stations that majority of Kenyans were glued on, for the period between February 1-14, 2019.

Interesting patterns of female viewership patterns as compared to their male counterparts were observed by Kenyans.co.ke in the detailed Radio and TV Audience Ratings Report.

Female viewers were reported to prefer Citizen TVMaisha Magic East, and Inooro TV in order of preference.

On the other hand, their male counterparts preferred KTN NewsNTV, and K24 respectively.

Regarding peak viewership periods, ladies mostly tuned in from 10 am to midday, while men’s peak viewership times were 1 pm, 4 pm, 7 pm and 9 pm going to 10 pm, a period of time allocated to news for most channels.

Data contained in the poll also revealed the two other time bands that are quite popular among ladies to be, 2 pm and 8 pm, with the latter slot seen to be mainly dedicated to Telenovelas and Drama Series.

Interestingly, KTN Home was seen to usually have a peak share at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, a time slot allocated to the Philippine novella The Promise.

Overall, Citizen TV was reported to have the highest share nationally followed by KTN HomeKTN News, and NTV respectively.

In the field of radio, Radio Citizen was in the lead as seen in the latest Geopoll results, with 13% share followed by Radio Maisha with 10% and Radio Jambo in third place with a 9% share.

Surprisingly, Classic FM was ranked third among female listeners with 8% share, with Radio Citizen taking the top crown as the preferred station for both sexes.
