Minister says Criminals interfered with security installation at JKIA

Transport CS James Macharia has said that an overwhelming majority of KAA workers were still at work at the JKIA and was supporting in helping to minimize the disruption caused by a few rogue elements.

While speaking to the media at the facility, Macharia branded the striking Kenya Aviation Workers Union as a bunch of criminals who had interfered with the security installation which was against the law.

Macharia further called on serious measures on the workers for interfering with a security installation.

Military personal was deployed at the airport which dealt harshly with the workers who were seen in running battles with the police.

Screeners from the Kenya airways as well as the military have been brought on board to end the strike that had grounded planes from midnight.
