David Siloba was arraigned in court after he was arrested for killing his girlfriend and burned her body in Eldoret.
The suspect did not take a plea after his lawyer Alfred Nyairo applied to have him undergo a psychiatric examination.
According to Nyairo “He was diagnosed to have a psychiatric ailment in 2011 and he has been on treatment though he has not taken his drugs for some time,”
Siloba was arrested last week after he allegedly hacked his Fiona Kisuyato to death at their house in Kapsoya Estate.
Justice Stephen Githinji ordered that Siloba be taken for medical examination and he be treated for wounds on his body.
He directed that the matter be mentioned on March 14.
