Last weekend in the Premier League, Arsenal drew 1-1 at Wembley in the north London derby.

The Gunners finished the match against Spurs with only 10 men.

Lucas Torreira, who came off the bench, was sent off after a tackle on Danny Rose.

Torreira was shown a straight red card after he landed his studs on Rose’s shin.

However Torreira’s dismissal was controversial as the midfielder clearly touched the ball before clattering into the Spurs left-bacl.

The Gunners have since appealed Torreira’s red card, but the appeal went badly.

It’s now been confirmed that the FA rejected the appeal and the original three game ban has been upheld.

Good for Man United & Everton
Torreira will now miss three critical Premier League matches for Arsenal.

Those are against Manchester United (h) this weekend, Newcastle (h) on April 1, and Everton (a) and April 7.

The Uruguayan will return for Arsenal’s trip to Watford.

For the avoidance of doubt, Torreira will be available to play in Arsenal’s Europa League clash against Rennes.
