Sassy Avril bags International deal

Kenyan songstress Judith Nyambura Mwangi, popularly known as Avril, has been appointed to join South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu in a new environmental course.

Taking to social media, the “Chokoza” hitmaker announced that she had been selected to be the Kenyan Ambassador by Justdiggit.

She expressed her excitement to have landed the job vowing to add her mark in the environmental awareness campaign.

“Today was a great day! Thank you (Justdiggit) for allowing me to lend my voice to #JustDiggIt and the #TheRainDanceProject as a Kenyan Brand Ambassador … I’m definitely ready to play my part in #CoolingDownThePlanet but for now, goodnight fam,” posted the singer.

Justdiggit is an organization based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and seeks to restore large scale degraded lands by retaining rainwater and preventing soil erosion.

Avril joins seven other ambassadors from around the globe including Archbishop Tutu who has been a human rights activist for many years.

He received a Nobel Prize for his fight against apartheid in South Africa and serves as a patron ambassador for Justdiggit.

This was, however, not the first time the singer has been approached to promote brands.

She was picked by Weetabix as the brand ambassador and would often post their content on her social media pages.

In 2017, the singer, who is also a songwriter, was picked by Itel Mobile as the mobile maker’s brand ambassador for Kenya.
