Governor Mike Sonko shocks Kenyans as he travels on Economy class to attend Grandmother’s burial

Nairobi Governor Mike ‘Sonko’ Mbuvi is known for many things ever since his entry into the Kenyan Politics scene, the most iconic being his flashy and flamboyant lifestyle. Despite this however, Sonko comes off as having interests of the humble at heart, always reminding us that he came from Eastlands.

It therefore came as a surprise when he decided to fly in the economy class in JamboJet Airline to attend his grandmother’s burial. Passengers and crew aboard the Jambojet he boarded, stole glances at him as he interacted with them in economy class.

For a moment, he put aside his swanky life style and walked around the cabin snapping selfies Passengers traveling to Mombasa aboard a Jambojet plane were on Monday, March 4, left agape after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko shared with them the economy class cabin.

The development left other passengers stealing glances at the county boss. Most of them stared in disbelief wondering what might have informed the governor’s decision to abandon his swanky lifestyle during the journey.

Sonko was headed for his grandmother’s burial ceremony in Mombasa.

It is shared knowledge that Sonko went against the grain by flying in the economy class. Most politicians of his caliber prefer boarding the luxurious business or first class. Some will even prefer to guzzle hundreds of liters of petrol in posh cars to such distant locations.

Despite Sonko having interests of the humble at heart, he is known to live a super flamboyant life.

Others also ensure they are flanked by several armed outriders.
