Former Manchester United striker, Ibraimovich applauds LA Lakers after loosing to LA Clippers

Zlatan Ibrahimovic took in the LA Lakers’ defeat against the LA Clippers lightly as he was seen applauding to cheer them on at the end of the game.

Ibrahimovic knows local rivalries well, having played for both Inter Milan and AC Milan during his storied career, and managed to see one take place in his new home town at the Staples Center.

The Swede is currently playing for LA Galaxy, who began their new season at the weekend with Ibrahimovic scoring the winner as they overcame the Chicago Fire 2-1 at home to start their campaign.

Floyd Mayweather was also spotted courtside on Monday night, wearing his usual TMT cap and a denim jacket.

Ibrahimovic will be hoping for more success with the Galaxy this season than their more famous neighbours are managing.

Danilo Gallinari scored 23 points, Lou Williams added 21 and the Clippers dealt another blow to the Lakers’ fading play-off hopes with a 113-105 victory.

Gallinari led six Clippers scoring in double figures while they comfortably maintained a lead over their Staples Center co-tenants down the stretch.

The Clippers (37-29) took sole possession of seventh place in the Western Conference standings with their sixth win in eight games.

LeBron James scored 27 points and Rajon Rondo had his 32nd career triple-double, but the Lakers took their ninth loss in 12 games since they beat the Clippers on January 31.
