See this heartfelt message a Class 5 pupil wrote to TSC about her mother!

Schoolchildren in a Kenyan class

Children often are very innocent and may not be aware about what goes on around them, but one thing is for sure, they can move mountains with their innocence.

A class five pupil has moved Kenyans with a letter addressed to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) requesting for the transfer of her mother back to the city.

The letter went viral on Sunday, March 3 on social media after people shared a picture. Many sympathised with the child’s predicament of being forced to live without the mother.

According to the young one, the mother is currently posted in Moyale while the pupil and a sibling are residing in Nairobi.

It is understandable that the mother may have experienced serious challenges of relocating the family due to different reasons.

The letter goes ahead to implore TSC to transfer the Moyale-based mother to the city or a close town like Thika, for example, in order for her to be close to the family. It is clear that the young learner, identified as Nicole, is disheartened that she has no attention from her mother since her work had taken her to a remote area of the country.

She even goes ahead to plead with the TSC to transfer them close to the mother if vice versa is impossible.By the beginning of 2019, TSC established plans of transfering over 3,000 headteachers of primary and secondary schools to different areas in the country.

The commission’s Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia informed that the transfers were occasioned by the retirements of teachers.

In 2018, the commission also made massive transfers of teachers in a move that was on the receiving end of serious criticism.See the picture of the letter below. The letter by the pupil
