Legendary Manager Takes Swipe At Man United’s Appointment Of Solskjaer

Since being brought in as the interim managerial replacement for Jose Mourinho in mid-December, the Norwegian tactician has done an exception job, with his team arguably performing better than all the other sides in the Premier League.

However, the Portuguese gaffer remains doubtful of the long-term impact his successor could make at the Theatre of Dreams.

Providing analysis on Sunday’s Premier League action for beIN Sports, Mourinho spoke about Fulham hiring Scott Parker as a replacement for Claudio Ranieri, and how that might not be the best of decisions for the long term.

Jose stated: “Can [Fulham] get a better manager than Claudio? Not at all. Can you compare the experience between Claudio and Scott, who is going to coach a team for the first time? Not at all.”

He then compared this appointment with Solskjaer’s arrival at Old Trafford, as he continued: “But sometimes in football, and you have the example with my former club [Man Utd hiring Solskjaer], that sometimes changes on the immediate.

“I don’t believe too much in these changes in the long term – but these changes on the immediate, there are sometimes some positive results.”

Mourinho eventually made a bold declaration concerning Fulham’s fate for the ongoing campaign, as he concluded: “I think the game today [Fulham vs Chelsea] is a crucial game for them. No victory, relegation.”
