Former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has faced online trolls after he shared his act of kindness on social media.

The Politician revealed that he had contributed to buying school uniforms for students after he had promised to do so during a mass /fundraiser at Ebusia Catholic Church in Mumias East in February.

Bonny Khalwale stated that he was impressed by the children after they showcased their singing and dancing skills during the mass.

He then tasked Madam Mary Munyekho of Ebusia Catholic Church from Mumias East with ensuring that the children get a good fit of uniform at his cost.

Sharing the photo, Bonny Khalwale noted that he was impressed by the new look of the students.

With some showing a level of appreciation, some have slammed him saying that his tweet was not about the children but a simply way to praise himself for his own deeds.

Others suggested to him that he should hire a blogger who will be posting such things on another account but not on his official page.

His tweet attracted mixed reactions. Apparently Kenyans always advocate for a common phrase ‘ When you go out to help, leave your camera at home.’ Especially after they see politicians or celebrities parading photos or videos of how they helped and their contribution in the society.

Although not many would not go by this phrase, their intention might as well not be to brag.

Do you think it is wrong to post such good deeds? Should people prefer helping without having to publicize it?

The message here is not about Mary or the kids. Its about you. Can you ever do a good deed without publicizing it.— Abu Daud (@RKI2011) March 3, 2019
