Citizen TV reporter narrates how they were robbed during devolution conference

Citizen TV reporter Stephen Letoo has narrated how him and his Inoroo TV’s counterpart Waweru Nyambura were robbed in Kirinyaga during the Devolution Conference.

Letoo said that they had driven to Kutus to have lunch and upon exiting the hotel, they found the window of their car had been smashed and the items missing. It is believed that the robbers opened the car through the smashed window.

Adding that a Mac book laptop, Cameras, branded microphones, cables and hard drives were stolen.

“Citizen TV crew that i am part of has been robbed in Kirinyaga during the ongoing devolution conference. Mc book Laptops, PXW Camera, Citizen TV branded microphone, bags, money, cables and hardrives for both Citizen and Inoooro TV” he wrote.

An eyewitness reported that he saw a car speeding off the scene of the crime. 

Letoo wondered how the incident happened because police officers were in the same establishment. 

Police are investigating the theft, which happened on Monday as counties trooped to Kirinyaga for the 6th Annual Devolution Conference.

During the five-day meeting, the government and its key stakeholders will be discussing what they have been able to deliver.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four agenda will form part of the conversation at the conference.
