For over a month, Uganda and Rwanda have been on tension over their border relations. Rwandese nationals were stopped from crossing to Uganda for several reasons.

Reportedly, business still remains paralyzed at the Katuna and Chanika towns at the Uganda-Rwanda border after the Rwanda customs officials allegedly failed to clear cargo trucks.

Katuna border is the main border where Kenyans and Ugandans pass through to Rwanda on Road.

Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has released his statement regarding the border tension between both countries.

Bobi believes that too many lives and livelihoods have been needlessly lost in previous flare-ups of war between the two countries as well as several millions being lost because of the current standoff.

“Over and above bilateral ties, Uganda and Rwanda are state parties to regional instruments and international protocols on trade and other forms of regional/international cooperation. These include the East African Common Market Protocol, the Constitutive Act of the African Union, the United Nations Charter, the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols thereto,” he shared on his facebook page.
