The two key suspects in the brutal, controversial murder of University student Sharon Otieno have been released on bail,Sources have learnt tha Caspal Obiero and Michael Oyamo who were charged with the murder of Sharon on Monday, September 3 and were released on a KSh 1 million cash bail each.
The two were granted bail by the Court of Appeal after spending four months after being charged in October 2018. Both Oyamo and Obiero worked for Migori governor Okoth Obado who is still being considered a key person of interest in the murder.
Obado was himself granted bail of Ksh 5 milion in October 2018 with sureties of the same amount. after spending 34 nights in remand. A pre-trial was however set to take place on February 14 for the Migori county boss along the two other suspects was but it was pushed back till March by prosecution who asked for more time to process the evidence.
Among the accusations facing governor Obado was aiding and abetting commission of Sharon’s murder between September 3 and September 4, 2018, jointly with his aides Obiero and Oyamo.
