Kilifi County Government has today reiterated its commitment to proper use of public resources.
This comes after the county officials held a management meeting with departmental heads to address their budget absorption, the status as well as implementation of their ongoing projects and programs Countywide.
The meeting was chaired by Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi.
Kingi says that the county is committed to ensuring prudence in the management of public resources.
The evidence behind this he says is in their budget making where the county has shifted from project-oriented budgeting to programme based budgeting which focuses on results for Wananchi.
Kingi noted that this shift has streamlined resource mobilization and usage thereby ensuring a seamless link between County plans and budgetary allocation.
In addition, the county has enhanced transparency and accountability in the usage of their available resources through strengthening programme management and monitoring and evaluation systems.
Having been ranked first nationally with the highest development expenditure absorption rate in the latest County Government Budget Implementation Review Report by the Office of the Controller of Budget, the Governor mentioned that they have reiterate their commitment towards scaling up investments in infrastructure, education, agriculture, health, water among other devolved sectors.
The Governor backed up this move stating that it will propel the county to live up to efficiency and good governance.
