Manchester United will be without a number of first-team stars when they face Crystal Palace in their upcoming Premier League clash.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a selection headache after an attritional 0-0 draw with Liverpool saw three players sidelined due to injury.
Juan Mata and Ander Herrera were both forced off while substitute Jesse Lingard, who came on for Mata after 25 minutes, also picked up an injury and had to be substituted before half-time.
The trio join Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian on the treatment table while Marcus Rashford also picked up an ankle knock against Liverpool and is a doubt.
Speaking about Rashford’s injury after the final whistle, Solskjaer said: “If he plays [against Crystal Palace], I will be surprised.
“He wanted to run it off, then Juan and Ander came off so we couldn’t take the risk taking him off. Hopefully he has not damaged himself too much.”
Marcos Rojo is another who has been sidelined recently as the Argentine continues to recover from a long-term injury while Nemanja Matic and Anthony Martial both missed the stalemate at Old Trafford.
Therefore, Solskjaer could be without up to nine first-team stars for the trip to Palace although he will hope Martial and Matic are available in order to ease the Red Devils’ injury worries.
Romelu Lukaku is expected to lead the line if Rashford is not passed fit while Alexis Sanchez is also likely to start.
The Chilean could be stationed on the right flank if Martial returns on the left, although Sanchez also has the ability to play up front or as a No 10.
Paul Pogba is the only certain starter in midfield while Fred, Andreas Pereira and Scott McTominay will vie for the remaining two spots if Matic remains out.
Ashley Young and Luke Shaw should get the nod at full-back once more while Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof impressed in centre-defence against Liverpool and are expected to continue.
