Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’I has confirmed that the Government has confiscated over 300 illegal firearms in the ongoing mandatory vetting of private gun owners in Nairobi. He further noted that some of the seized weapons included automatic rifles and over 5,000 assorted rounds of ammunition,
The Super Minister also checked out Police Pavilion in South C, Nairobi, to check to ascertain the progress in the ongoing mandatory vetting of private gun owners that begun on 17th December last year and he also warned private gun owners who have not been vetted to do so by March 7th ruling out any extension of the deadline.
